this is for my darlin' *Keysha-chan cause I know I give you a hard time about Chopper being creepy looking-it's those eyes that stare into your very soul man- but I don't really mean it. just wanted to throw you some Usopp and Chopper love, yes I pay attention.

you brought up a very good point in your LJ the other day about Usopp and it kinda got me to thinking: Usopp, not the most good looking character in the world, look at that nose, look at those lips, but that's part of his charm, part of his character.

as much I bitch about Anime; through its seemingly ENDLESS armies of Bishes and flawless adonis', (which tend to harm the way I personally perceive the character, there is such a thing as TOO pretty y'know) SOMETIMES it throws up characters that look quite interesting, and they are unafraid to distort and twist that characters expression.

'cause I think it's one of the things that I STILL hold back on; pushing the boundaries of expression that you sometimes think could make the character too 'ugly' or look 'weird'. so FUCK that: push those expressions, break the lines outside of the extremes of the face even, to get that feeling that you hope to convey without resorting to speech bubbles.

also on a side note, some characters are too busy, too much crap going on with the face or the clothes and the focus being on the fundamentals of the hair or nails rather than the shapes and colours of the character.

It's been said again and again, but you should know who your character is even if they are unceremoniously stripped down to their birthday suits and silhouetted.

I mean, look at Bloo from Fosters Home? could he be any more devoid of character accessories? yet he has a HUGE personality, he doesn't need all those trapping and neither does your 'OC'.

just sayin'

and none of this has alot to do with this deviation, just thought I'd have a rant, I'm overdue dammit!
